I love Instagram and I am far better at keeping that updated than this blog! My apologies. I discovered some like minded accounts with weekly challenges that have been very inspiring and lots of fun! A few weeks back the week’s theme was veggies – see their post here for details. Here are all the ways Charley and I interacted with veggies:
First we went to the grocery store and picked out some vegetables. Charlotte got her own cart for the first time and had so much fun putting her veggies into it!
We roasted and cut carrots for dinner.
I saved the scraps for vegetable prints. We used the end of a carrot, the top of a bell pepper, and the bottom of a celery bunch.
Books and materials on her shelves/play kitchen:Vegetable wooden puzzles. We also used the pieces in her play kitchen and for matching work (seen below)Our collection of pretend veggies for her kitchen. I wanted to include real veggies but with two dogs they would never last! The books we had out. The Shine a Light books from Usborne are so fun! Notice the bird seed Charley tracked into the house! She loves her birds. Matching work using language cards and pretend food. Her play kitchen set-up with all of our vegetables. She served us, the dogs, and her stuffed animals a lot of veggies!
